Ever fancied attempting to emulate legendary Olympians such as Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy or Victoria Pendleton?
Portishead Cycling Club offers opportunities for riders of all abilities to test themselves on the track at the Wales National Velodrome in Newport.
Sessions are led by instructor Jason Streather, of PDQ Coaching, and last two hours. Bike hire is available from the Velodrome for £10 per session. The hire bikes use Look KEO pedals and, therefore, you will need Look KEO-compatible cleats.
Riders go out in small groups, depending on experience, and receive instruction for set amounts of time.
You are not riding for the entire two-hour period.
Costs for the session vary, depending on numbers, so the more riders who go, the cheaper it is. 20 PCC riders took to the track on 5 April 2017, which equated to £20 per head.
Car pools are available with fellow members for each session.
