Portishead Cycling Club was formed in 2015 with the intention of uniting a community of like-minded cyclists based in a booming town on the North Somerset coast, 10 miles west of Bristol.
Within five years, the club evolved from a casual group of social riders to the biggest cycling club in North Somerset, with riders hailing from Bristol, Clevedon, Nailsea, Yatton and Weston-super-Mare.
We have hundreds of members signed up through British Cycling and the club continues to grow naturally through word of mouth, social media and our eye-catching kit spotted on local roads.
PCC is social, friendly and only as competitive as each rider wants to be. Members range from ex-professionals or racers to complete novices, with riders of all abilities in between. Regardless of your experience, there’s something for everyone.
The club’s road activities are centred on three weekly rides – on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We meet at Mike’s Bikes in Portishead at varying times.
Members can benefit from link-ups with two local businesses – PCC member Matt Dawson provides excellent service at Mike’s Bikes, while Fox Cycling offer free taster sessions at its state-of-the-art spin studio.
In addition, the club is also affiliated to British Cycling. View our members’ section for details on how to join.
Being a British Cycling member also offers other benefits, including monthly discounts on products from several retailers.
